WORK AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE


FESTIVAL REPUBLIC
Industry Ticketing Manager, May 2017 to November 2017
Contractor / Consultant, December 2017 to present

Ticketing, production, touring and consultancy experience on over a dozen festivals.

I coordinated Industry Guest Ticketing sales for the entire Festival Republic portfolio, for hundreds of label and industry clients in the U.K. and beyond. I also developed an auditing system in VBA and Microsoft Access for allocating wristband stock at a selection of events.

I then developed this further as a Contractor / Consultant for Festival Republic and Live Nation, delivering software which helped make the admission process less “time-consuming and labour intensive”, placing the data needed to make decisions on a redundant cloud platform.


BRUNEL UNIVERSITY LONDON
Project Lead, March 2017 to present

Delivering innovation to engage prospective students.

I’m currently leading the Brubot project funded by Brunel University London, a Messenger chatbot with Artificial Intelligence which consolidates all University services into one point-of-contact. The bot also integrates with SITS through a custom-made API, allowing targeted two-way conversation between the University and the students.


BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION
BBC Radio 1 Unit Assistant, April 2017

Producing live output on BBC Radio 1.

I edited montages for live output, edited news content for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra Newsbeat, researched content for live shows, edited content from AutoROT and BBC Desktop Jukebox, and sources callers who were compliant with the BBC Editorial Guidelines.

I’ve undertaken a variety of roles, from query resolution to technical support, as an Entertainments Assistant for the Union’s Nightlife offerings.


THE EVENT UMBRELLA
Production Assistant, July 2013 to 2018

I worked with The Event Umbrella for five years at local and international events of various sizes. From managing IT and communications in Bansko for Horizon Festival to acting as Event Control during the Whitstable Oyster Festival, I have gained a wealth of experience in a range of senior roles.

Impact and Development Team Assistant, August 2014

Working on an Outreach event as part of 1Xtra Live 2014, my task was to establish and create an event plan and assess suitable venues. I also contributed to the production of on-air and off-air output.

BRUNEL UNIVERSITY LONDON
BA (Hons) Journalism, September 2016 to present

Graduating in July 2019, I took on roles from the President of Radio Brunel to Chair of Student Assembly elected in a cross-campus ballot. I earnt a first in my final-year dissertation, titled ‘See It, Say It, Sorted: a case study of the U.K. media and the domestic fight against terrorism‘, and I also earnt a Brunel Volunteers Gold Award for my voluntary contributions to my community.

SIMON LANGTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL FOR BOYS
September 2014 to August 2016

I was the Head Boy in Year 13, working on bridging the gap between the Lower and Upper School. I earnt a Headmasters’ Award upon leaving the school for my contributions to the school throughout my two years there. I also achieved 2 Bs, 1 C and an A* in my Extended Project Qualification, titled ‘Media plurality and the state: to what extent does media plurality and independence affect perceptions of governmental accountability and corruption.
